Empty Nesters

Is your nest finally empty?  Do you have some spare time to have fun?

Empty Nesters is a group for women. We either don't have children or ours have already graduated from high school.
When you are new to the area and you do not have children at home, it is sometimes challenging to meet new people.
Our group has been considered a 'life saver' to many empty nesters who have moved to The Andovers.

Holiday Giving

Empty Nesters support the Lazarus House as well as Neighbors in Need and Bread and Roses. The big holiday project is with the Single Resident Occupany at the Lawrence Y, of which Empty Nesters have been supporting for a number of years. Members provide wish list gift items for 12 women who live at the Y as well as a monetary donation for a holiday meal.

The Newcomers & Neighbors will be donating $200 this year towards the Single Resident Occupancy program.

Our Fall has been busy!

The Empty Nesters were off and running with a variety of planned activities along with active participation in the interest groups that meet monthly. Some highlights included:

September... a lovely afternoon cocktail party held at the home of Carol Ann Morse. Those in attendance all enjoyed the delightful weather, the scrumptious appetizers and desserts, and of course the wine and conversation. There was also an enjoyable excursion to the Beaumont Mansion in Gloucester, followed by lunch at the Seaport Grill. Aside from a surprise encounter with a wild turkey upon arrival, which ended well, it was a very pleasant day out. Members contributed pantry items to Lazarus House following the September coffee. In addition the Nesters will continue to support various local charities during this year's holiday season. We are a busy group for sure.

October...a luncheon outing to the Wenham Tea House. It is always a treat to go the Wenham Tea House where the food and the bellinis are always top-notch.
